Cairns on the Northern stretch of the East Coast is the hub of tropical Australia. The ideal location has the Great barrier reef to the east and the mountain rainforests to the west. The city is complimented by beaches to the north and south offering easy access to the famous reef. Day trips to the outer reef are available from $60 including lunch, a glass bottom boat tour, snorkelling and diving options. For the more serious there is no better place to get certified as a diver as on a memorable 4 star liveabaord boat. For somebody wanting more adrenalin get picked up and taken to the Tully River for some grade 4 action or a 1/2 day scenic adventure on the Barron River. To go as far North as Cairns one cannot leave wiithout visiting the tropical rainforests in Cape Tribulation. Get picked up from Carins and spend 2/3 amazing days surrounded by lush green rainforest. Take a crocodile cruise or just wander in amazement. Visit Port Douglas before being dropped off in Cairns again.
